Glendale Hotel - Cardiff

the location is marvellous, 1 km from penarth pier pavilion. the staff is pleasant and the food is incredible.

As we remember, there was no menu.

Nothing too much trouble, this was a very good stay on a business trip. The room was cheap with view over the garden, and the breakfast was savoury. The staff was HOSPITABLE, efficient, and everything was perfect. Could use their free parking.

Our stay was marred by a confusing bathroom situation and an uncomfortably hot room, but the friendly staff and excellent food made up for some of the negatives.

While the breakfast options were great, keeping the bar and restaurant available through the weekend would have enhanced my experience.

I really enjoyed my stay as the breakfast was delicious and cooked to order, and the old-fashioned decor added to the character. my double room was spacious and comfortable. I would not hesitate to return!

I loved how cozy the room was, with really nice decor and an comfortable bed that made it easy to relax after a long day. The hotel had a lovely lounge area and a peaceful garden where you could unwind a bit. Just a tiny downside was that breakfast took a little longer than expected, but it was worth the wait! 😊

The unique decor of the rooms adds a unique charm, with some recently modernized. The restaurant offers a dinner menu that impresses with really good food, catering to a variety of tastes.

The room I stayed in struggled with all sorts of quirks. The shower failed to maintain a consistent temperature, swinging wildly from freezing to scalding, while bathroom lighting, activated by a sensor, disrupted sleep with its erratic switching. Plus, the upstairs area felt worn, with visible stains and a musty odor lingering in the air-definitely not ideal for relaxation. The bed was borderline torturous, set with a flimsy foam mattress over an old one that left my back in knots. No soap or shampoo stocked in the bathroom either, felt a bit like we were camping in a rundown space.

Super comfy night

I stayed for a night and the bed was super comfy! The staff were friendly. Breakfast was really good, but I missed out on checking out the bar downstairs, a bummer. The location is spot on, really close to the station, but finding parking can be tricky sometimes.

The Glendale Hotel's staff were really good, always ready to help and. The location was ideal, with access to local attractions and the seafront, perfect for leisurely walks, especially for seniors like me.

Bathroom could use better accessibility features.

The double room was spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The location offered easy access to nearby beaches and the station, perfect for our family outing. Breakfast was enjoyable. Having it included in the price would have enhanced the experience. Unfortunately, the cold shower was a letdown during our one-night stay.

Totally recommend for a short weekend trip

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast. I enjoyed the lovely old features around the building and appreciated being just a few steps from the train station.
